I love supporting local business, however, I will be taking it elsewhere due to the confusion as well as the lengthily time of completion for what I was told was "a simple fix."

The owner helped me as I wanted to do some altering to my ring. She spent the time telling me that my diamond wasn't nice enough to be referred to as a diamond, insulted the ring, and got me to leave crying. When my husband called to talk to the owner, she blamed the interaction on me for us not having similar enough personalities. She told my husband "Oh, I'm sorry. If I could have done it differently, I would have had someone else help your wife."

My friend has taken many pieces of jewelry to Dave and spoke highly of him. I took my wedding bands in to get sized. I wanted to go from an 8 to 7.5. He told me I needed to go to a 7. My fingers fluctuate all day so I didn't feel comfortable going that low. I told him that. He told me that he didn't know who my jeweler was but he has been doing this for 40 years and if I want my ring to sit tight I needed to go to a 7. We finally agreed to agree 7.25. I picked my rings up and they fit perfect that day. Over the next month I fought daily to get them over my knuckle. I went in to ask them to measure it. They actually sized it to just under a 7. The first lady told me I would have to talk Dave about what could be done but he wasn't in. The next lady who overheard stepped in and pulled my original request. She agreed they messed up. She said it would he and least 2 weeks. My husband later called to request a rush since it was their error. After 3 calls, Dave finally called him back. He tried to accuse my husband of being irate with his staff. He promised a week. I called today as it was a week. They called an hour later and said it was ready. I went to pick it up and it fit. Reviewed it after I got in my car and realized my 3 bands that are soldered together are all 3 different sizes, don't line up and my engagement ring has been shaved to nothing. I took it back in. The lady took it Dave. After a few minutes of him pounding on it, he told her there was nothing more. He finally brought it out to me. He told me he didn't originally solder it, so he couldn't help how it turned out. After going over all our conversations, he got mad and told me there was nothing more he could do, we were done and to get out of his store. All in front of another customer. I asked for my money back and he told me no we were done. I told him I wasn't done and will surely share my story. I took my rings to Helzbergs. My original bill of $150 at Dave's has cost me another $300 to fix his mistake. He took took much gold off and they have to add to my bands. My husband called to discuss with him and he said we are nothing but East siders and don't know what we are talking about. Said there was nothing more to do. Refused a refund as he did work. Refused to make it right. When my husband told him he was recording him and that is no way to talk to a customer or run a business he said well bring me pictures and I will fix it. Hell no. We will never recommend or use him again.

Brought in a fossil watch to have a stem repaired a couple weeks ago and was not quoted a price or a time frame of completetion, only that it was a simple fix. When I went in to pick it up today (29JUN17) I was a really surprised by the cost.

The lady I spoke with today apologized for the confusion and her excellent customer service is the only reason 1 star was not given.

Update: received a call from helzbergs yesterday 1/10. The new estimate to fix this is $646. It is just heartbreaking the damage that is done. I will pay any amount to have this repaired. It is my wedding band. However it will never be what I got married with since so much was taken off the shank and it has to be redone. It will now look like 2 rings instead of the 3 it is.

I found Dave's after looking at several chain stores. I was thrilled right away with the service and care! Paula spent several hours helping me custom design my mother's ring! I just picked it up today and it's more beautiful then I dreamed! THANKS Paula & Dave

We have been customers of Dave's for years. We always receive great quality, excellent value and superb service!
