Love it! Better then on campus! Cheaper and faster!

Absolutely love this place and it's my go-to for all my textbook needs. Very affordable and lenient. Staff is wonderful and helpful. Even on their busy days, you can get in and out quickly and satisfied. Definitely would recommend this place, especially if you're attending Ankeny DMACC. Not only is it just across the street, but it'll also save you the horrible experience at their bookstore.

Wrong books 3 times. Went in to buy a book from here, when I got home I double checked that it was the right one. It wasn't. Thank goodness I checked because if I had opened the packaging or I would've been out that money. They were nice about getting me the book I actually needed. But I shouldn't have to run across town to get a different book. That was this summer, today I went to get books for this fall and the lady brought up a couple of books for one of my classes, but I mentioned that online it said I was required to have 7 (yes 7) books for that class. She double checked and saw that the books she was about to sell me weren't even the required books. So AGAIN they didn't do their job correctly. They're nice people and get the job done for the most put, but it shouldn't be this hard.

I used to love going to the Textbook Outlet to get my books, in fact I've been a loyal customer for 2 years now. The experience that I had today, totally changed my mind about the place. Like I've said, I've rented all of my textbooks from here, never once turning them in late or damaging a book. Today I went to turn my books in early, so I wouldn't forget to turn them in before the due date. After I turned my books in, I was made aware that as a class we had one last assignment due, which we needed our book for. I called them asking if there was any way I would be able to come back in and get my book for one more day, even though the books weren't even due yet so that shouldn't have been an issue. The lady I talked to asked what book it was and I told her it was for one of my business classes. After a minute of looking, she tells me she only has record of me renting a math and speech book. Both of those books were from the previous semester, and she said she didn't have records of me having any other textbooks rented. I explained to her that this semester I had rented three books. She never told me if she ended up finding those on file or not, but told me I could come back in and get it. I go in that night to pick it up and she tells me I owe $5 to get the book back for the night. I explain to her that the book wasn't due until the next night so I shouldn't have to pay anything. She didn't even explain herself, just told me another guy would help me. The other guy comes over and tells me I owe $5 and I tell him that doesn't make sense as I wasn't asking to keep the book past its due date. The man still makes me pay the extra $5 to get my book back, and then as we are leaving starts laughing and my boyfriend turned around and asked what he was laughing at and that it wasn't funny that he just made us pay $5 for a book that I had already payed the full rental fee for. The guy just continued to laugh as we are walking out. What type of "customer service" is laughing at a customer as they're walking out after being ripped off? They definitely just lost a loyal customer, and I will definitely be spreading the word on this. I've had friends who have turned their books in way overdue, and they didn't get charged extra. But I get charged for getting my book back that wasn't even due yet? Apparently I shouldn't try to turn my books in on time? This isn't the first issue I've had with them either. Somehow every year when I go in to price my books the price is way cheaper than what they actually end up charging me. They rip people off. I'll definitely be buying my books elsewhere from now on.

Cheap, good books. Excellent service. When I had to return a book it was no problem. Will definitely use this place again

Update: they sold me the wrong chemistry book and when I brought it back in for the right one he acted like I was completely wrong when the first thing I told him was the ISBN, author, and copyright year were all different then the book I actually needed. Sure enough. I was right. He settled on taking my phone number and name.
