These guys were hired to completely finish my basement and failed to communicate, also did very shotty work. Tried to make us sign a contract saying that we can't bad mouth his company after We parted ways. We expected no issues or complications as ty seem professional but we got the opposite and on top of that he gave us his lawyers number instead of coming to look at the concerns we had. Long story short 3 city inspectors came out and said the work was no good. He completely disregards all of this. I guess everyone is a liar but him and his crew. Bottom line is he will rob you of your money by not doing as he promises and will hide all the crappy work. I'm surprised the homes he built are still standing.
We had our kitchen remodeled by Teck. First the measurements they did were wrong. When the cabinet people came to finalize, we had to re-do our layout. Then they ordered the wrong size sink and didn't know until 1/2 way into the project. We went with a sink we didn't want so we didn't have to wait weeks. Finally, our dishwasher came loose and a cabinet door came off (see picture). This has been 2 weeks and they still haven't fixed it. Guess once you pay, they don't care about you.
The house itself is beautiful. It would be especially nice if it were complete. Deadlines changed, as expected, but even after the final one with blue tape walkthrough the house is not complete. Many errors were made from the floors, to the cabinets, to the hardware. The electrician did not close off the pipe to the meter allowing air and bugs a way into the home. Every subcontractor doesn't care about the others work and had no qualms messing their work up or making a mess of the place. Even now we are begging to get things completed, and have pretty much determined we need to wait until our one year warranty to get the work complete. The only recommendation I can make to people is to make sure they are in no rush to get in, as you may need many blue tape walk throughs to actually get the work complete. Also, make sure all of the work is complete as it is like pulling teeth to get the work completed. The only positive, minus one area we couldn't get them to improve was the floor plan design. The flooring we picked, they stopped carrying. They put the wrong flooring in one area of the house, and lost a day having to come tear it out and replace it. Would have been longer if we didn't check the process on it. They didn't order the lights, so the day before the electrician showed up we had to go shopping at Menards for lights. This was our first time building, so some of this could be normal home building issues, but was enough to make us never want to build again. Our brand new home sometimes has more issues that the 50 year old home we got rid of.
Ty and his crew did a fantastic job on our basement finish. For one, we didn't have to wait 8 months to have it started and he was available for us throughout the entire process. His workers were respectful and conscientious when in our home. We are very pleased with how the project turned out.
Recently Teck finished our basement remodel project in Bondurant. From start to finish this was a smooth process and our basement turned out fantastic. They finished almost 1,000 square feet and added a family room, a children's area, full bar, bedroom, and bathroom. Our friends and family members who stop over have nothing but great things to say about the design and work. During the dry wall process our furnace filter became plugged with dry wall dust causing our central air unit to freeze up on a hot day. I contacted Ty and he called Heartland Heating and Cooling to have an on-call repairman come out and fix the problem on a Saturday night. Ty took care of the bill. This really meant a lot to us and showed Ty's commitment to his customers. Our project manager, Samantha, was also great to work with. We also had 3 quotes for the basement and Teck's was by far the lowest bid. I offer a full recommendation for Teck.
