I have been a patient at Mercy Clinic in Ankeny since 1981. My first doctor was Dr. Dennis Hopkins and he retired. The Mercy Clinic transferred me to Dr. Shannon Hood, DO. She has been my doctor now for almost two decades. I am 70 years old and now on Medicare. When I have my annual physical she listens to me carefully and she takes detailed notes. She checks my immunizations and other tests (like colon) done every five years or ten years. She asks me lots of questions about any changes in my family history and makes recommendations about what I should be eating and how I should be exercising. She annually tests my blood for various normal items. The nurse calls me in two days with the test results. I have been very pleased with Dr. Hood over the many years that I have been her patient. I highly recommend her.
